Distant Refuge operates Dialog Translator.
Summary
To perform translations, the app sends submitted content (text, audio, images) to our backend and then to OpenAI for processing.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use personal data for third-party advertising or tracking.
Data we collect and process
- Account data (email address and authentication records).
- User Content you submit for translation (text, audio, images), processed to fulfill your request.
- Usage data (token usage, quota status, and timestamps).
- Security and technical telemetry needed to run and protect the service.
- Support communications if you contact us.
How we use data
- Provide translation and app functionality.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Support troubleshooting, service quality, and reliability.
Sharing with OpenAI and consent
To generate translations, the app shares User Content with OpenAI for processing.
Before the first transfer to OpenAI, the app requests explicit consent. If consent is not granted, content is not sent and translation does not run.
OpenAI may retain limited customer content (prompts/responses) and derived metadata in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless legally required to retain longer.
What we do not store
For Dialog Translator app requests, we do not store a persistent server-side history of translation content (text, audio, images) after processing.
Retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active.
- Usage and security records: retained as needed to enforce quotas, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
- Support messages: retained as needed to resolve issues and maintain records.
Account deletion
Delete your account in the app: Settings -> Account -> Delete Account.
When deleted, login access is revoked and direct account identifiers are removed from active account records.
We may retain limited usage and security records where required for legal compliance or fraud prevention.

Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest. No transmission or storage method is 100% secure.

The app has an age rating of 4+.
